Day 8: Oct 26
I’m here in the Dundee Library where they have generously allowed David and I to use Internet service for free. That makes my Scotch blood rejoice!
Saturday, the Kilfane group put on a tremendous concert to a good crowd assembled in St. Peter’s church. I wish that you all could hear them, they are extremely talented. They did a mixture of Celtic, Bluegrass, Country, English Pub and Sacred music to a very receptive audience. I’m hoping we can get them to come to Dallas some day.
Sunday we spent the day at church, with the Kilfane group leading in the singing (Psalms only without instruments) at both the morning and evening services. This was followed by a time of fellowship after the evening service with several of us sharing our impressions of the trip so far. Four of us ate at the pastor’s house a huge and tasty meal, and enjoyed spending the afternoon watching the local Dundee “football” team play. Pastor Robertson is the team’s chaplin, and one of the players is giving his testimony at tonight’s concert.
Today is not only clear, but down right warm (high 50’s I would judge). Tomorrow we head to Inverness and the Loch Ness the the Scotish Highlands. They have already handed out 300 tickets to the concert there, so we expect a big crowd. Please pray for the following singers who are all fighting colds (I equipped them all with Zicam sticks…): Elizabeth, Janet and Jane. David is fighting a bad knee so pray for him too. As for me, I’m incredibly healthy. Even though I can’t go to Mexico anymore, I sure can come back here!
My time is drawing to a close here. Hopefully I’ll be able to send a note from Inverness. After that it’s going to be hectic going from there to Manchester to Atlanta.

[Editor’s Note: The reason I said above “I can’t go to Mexico anymore” has to do with a joke about how Puddleglum makes out when he travels to that country. He’s been twice: once to Acapulco when Peter was stationed there, and once to Cancun with Susan on a winter holiday. Both times Puddleglum experienced such severe illnesses that he vowed if he came back a third time it would kill him.]
