Macro Man
Thanks to Jay for great comments on the last Jeremiad entry. I think he is right on.
Once again work has interfered with my vocation (blogging). I’ve been engaged in a software project that has totally captivated me. I’m writing Excel macros like crazy. It’s almost an obsession (as son Mark likes to point out). They say the elderly need some mental project to focus on to keep their minds from deteriorating. I think I’ve found it! I find I wake up at 3:30 AM dreaming about “Do Until…” loops.
Given that July marks the one year anniversary of Susan’s passing I suppose my mind may be subconsciously working in the background to keep me from being overwhelmed by the memories of those painful days exactly one year ago. Tonight, for instance, I went back and read all those blogs under “Remembering Susan” of July, 2003. Yet, I seemed to be able to face them without the pain I had previously experienced. I guess I am healing up.
But with Jamison’s wedding, and Shari’s move, and my work schedule, and getting mom’s house in shape, and repairing my A/C, and preparing to teach Sunday School in two weeks, it’s likely that this space will be sparse for awhile. During the recent hiatus from Jeremiah, however, I’ve run across several memorable references from recent sermons, readings, etc. so I continue my excitement at getting back to it “soon.” The reader’s patience is solicited. Thanks!

John, I’m so glad that you can tell that you have healed up to a measurable extent; I know you’ve done a lot toward working through so much of the grief this year. What a blessing that your life is full of good things at this time to make this month easier ~ I rejoice with you and continue to pray for you. This site continues to be a blessing to so many as we watch the Lord at work in you and your family. To Him be the Glory for all His tangible, temporal blessings, and the eternal unfathomable ones as well.
