On the Mend
I’m happy to report that Lydia is doing much better this morning. I just talked to Mark (who spent the 3rd night in a row with Lydie) and he reports that they’ve taken the nose tube out, and she is smiling a lot more today. They have even gone for a few brief walks down the hall to the fishtank and playroom. The catheter was also taken out yesterday, and now that her bowels are coming back to life they are placing her on a liquid diet. That means they only have 3 things connected to her now: the IV, the heart monitor and the oxygen monitor. I assume the latter will be removed shortly.
Thanks to all who have been praying for our precious granddaughter! Your prayers have been answered in the most positive way.
PS: at some point–after observing the painful sufferings of Lydia yesterday–I want to reflect in a future blog on: the problem of pain, particularly as it concerns “innocent children.”
